 Being a civil celebrant requires us to be professional and knowledgeable about all aspects of our career.
This includes occupational health and safety issues, and the risks associated with our work.
There are risks associated with celebrancy.
For example: someone falling over our brief case, our PA falling on someone, breaking our ankle on rough round, not seeing all the legal conditions are met in our wedding ceremonies.

The ACCN is a business supporting the networking of celebrants.
We have negotiated an insurance package with OAMPS Insurance Brokers Ltd for our ACCN celebrant members.
Like the group insurance cover offered by some celebrant associations, the fees are lower because the cover is for the group, not individual cover.
Information from OAMPS is that the rate of claims over a number of years under Professional Indemnity and Public Liability has been very low.
Remember: You may join these group policies ANYTIME after their commencement date, however full fees still will apply (ie not pro rata).
However fees are likely to be less in the following year, the more members we are all to group under this one policy.
